A Mineral Moon at Waning Gibbous

“A second mineral-color rendition of the Moon, its waning gibbous phase revealing the same titanium-rich maria in cool blue tones.”

Captured about four months after the previous mineral-color image, this waning gibbous view again reveals the Moon’s subtle surface chemistry: blue-toned mare basalts rich in titanium contrast against warmer, iron-poor highland material. The differing libration and lighting angle bring out a slightly different color balance than the earlier capture, particularly around Mare Tranquillitatis.
