A Prominence Drifting off the Limb
“A time-lapse in H-alpha of a wispy prominence standing off the solar limb.”
A delicate, wispy prominence stands off the limb in H-alpha, its filaments of plasma shifting and drifting as the sequence plays. Along the edge of the disk, the ragged texture of spicules is visible.
Frames were captured as video, each stacked in AutoStakkert!3 and sharpened in ImPPG, then aligned and assembled into the time-lapse.
