The Sun in White Light: July 2026
“A full-disk white-light mosaic of the Sun, with sunspot groups scattered across the photosphere.”
The whole solar disk in white light, where sunspot groups stand out as dark marks against the granulated photosphere. The brightness fades subtly toward the edge, because at the rim we look through higher, cooler layers.
Captured as video panels, each stacked in AutoStakkert!3, sharpened in ImPPG and stitched into a mosaic.
